Conwy Beekeepers was founded in 1978 as Aberconwy and Colwyn Beekeepers’ Association. In 2002 we became Conwy Beekeepers’ Association, and in 2014 we became Conwy Beekeepers Limited, a Company Limited by Guarantee.

We are based in Conwy County in North Wales, with members from across the county and beyond. Many members keep one or two hives, while a few have more than 40. We have members who are just starting with bees, others with more than 50 years’ experience, and one member whose family has kept bees continuously since 1912.

We have organised the Conwy Honey Fair and the Conwy Seed Fair since 1990. These events also raise funds for Bees for Development, helping people in the developing world become more self-reliant through beekeeping.

Our aim is to encourage people to keep bees, raise public awareness of their importance, and produce honey. We simply enjoy being with our bees and sharing knowledge about beekeeping.

Meetings and training

We hold winter evening meetings and regular summer meetings with the bees.

If you are thinking of starting beekeeping, we recommend courses run by the National Beekeeping Centre for Wales.

Conwy Beekeepers is affiliated with the Welsh Beekeepers’ Association. Visit the WBKA website for information on other associations in Wales.
