🐝 Get Ready for the Eglwys Bach Show: Calling All Beekeepers!
Are you proud of this season’s harvest? It’s time to let your bees’ hard work shine! We are thrilled to invite all local apiarists to participate in the Honey Section at the upcoming Eglwys Bach Show.
🍯 Competition Highlights
From liquid gold to artistic beeswax creations, there are plenty of ways to showcase your skills:
- Honey Classes: Light, Medium, Dark, Crystallised, Creamed, Heather, and Chunk honey.
- Beeswax & Craft: Plain cakes of beeswax, hand-made candles, and decorative wax items.
- Mead: Show off your best dry or sweet mead (bottled in 75cl clear glass with white-topped flanged stoppers).
- Innovation: Got a clever DIY beekeeping tool? Enter it into our “Practical Invention” class!
- Baking: Don’t miss the Honey Fruit Cake class (contact the Horticultural Secretary for the official recipe).
📝 Important Information for Exhibitors
To ensure a smooth entry process, please take note of these key rules:
- Entry Fee: Just 25p per entry, (you can pay on when depositing your entries).
- Register: fill out the entry form below and submit Online (sioeeglwysbach@gmail.com)
- Prizes: 1st Place – £2.50 | 2nd Place – £2.00.
- Jars: All extracted honey must be in 400g/1lb squat jars. Labels must be placed 1cm from the bottom.
- Standards: Please ensure all honey is graded according to BBKA standards.
- Limits: You may enter multiple exhibits per class, though you are limited to one award per class.
