Selling honey at Conwy Honey Fair

First time selling at the Fair? These tips will help you create an attractive stall, improve sales and give visitors a good experience.

Quick checklist

  • Create an attractive, inviting display
  • Offer honey tasting where possible
  • Bring a range of products, not just one jar type
  • Display awards, rosettes or photos of your apiary
  • Bring change or accept card payments

Top tips

  • Create an attractive display that catches attention.
  • A plain table with one jar type is less likely to attract buyers.
  • Offer honey tasting where possible.
  • Display photos of your apiary.
  • Plan ahead. Customers often ask for set honey, heather honey, comb honey and chunk honey.
  • Show awards, rosettes and prize cards to build trust.
  • Save some honey for future shows and competitions.
  • Offer other hive products such as candles, beeswax, creams and fudge.
  • Cut comb honey usually sells well.
  • Observation hives attract attention, but they must be secure and supervised.
  • Talk to visitors and be ready to answer questions about your bees.
  • Avoid passive selling. Engage with people.
  • Bring plenty of change or accept card payments.
  • Remember that Conwy Honey Fair is a unique privilege for local beekeepers.
  • Enjoy the day.

Recommended minimum price: £8 per 454g jar of flower honey (2025 guidance). Prices for other sizes and products may vary.
